Pets leave footprints in our hearts
We love our pets
Over the years I have made many pet portraits. The first one comes to mind was a drawing of my best friends dog. It was a drawing her mother asked me to make. Since then I have lost count but here are a few examples. More often than not the reaction is I dont know what to say. I get many wonderful comments from happy owners of a petportrait.

My Story
My story is that I grew up on a small farm and had a dog and cats as my company. Each one of our pets has a special personality. Every dog or cat owner can tell a unique story about each pet. My dog when I was a child was named King. He followed me to the bus stop once and got on the bus with me. The bus driver asked me to get of so that King would follow me, he did, and also getting back on the bus again. I remember it clearly when he sat next to me like a King on the seat at the front of the bus, ready to go where ever I was going. The bus driver eventually got him out and he waited for me at the bus stop until I came home from school.
Loyalty like that is hard to find in people and King is always with me in my heart.
I try to capture the unique in each cat or dog portrait I make. I do not paint photo realistic as a camera does that perfectly. I interpret each portrait with my paint and brushes or pencil
